What's in a blog?

As far as I can tell, a blog is an individual's random thoughts, rants, musings and meanderings. Seems to be right up my alley. Oh the joy of bearing my soul to no one in particular. Myah.

I Am A Personal Slave To the Software User

OMG! Ok, so there's this one guy that I've been working with for two months. From the time I sold him the software to today when I got his software installed and running finally!

This guy would not talk to any tech other than me this whole time. I EARNED my 50 dollar commission with this guy! He buys it, waits a couple of weeks and is finally ready to have us do an install of his store. Nothing, and I mean nothing goes right and he doesn't even know what ftp is. Gggrrrrr! What's worse is neither does his "tech guy".

So, we try to go in and set up his store, we don't have permissions to write to his server. Now I and most people familiar to the way permissions work knows what this all means. However, for those that don't, it means if I upload to a server, I can't install software if I don't have permmission to do so.

Anyway, so we finally have the guy at the host company install because he won't give us access to do it. I go in and do his store setup today, he's up and running now after two months of hell and I close the support ticket...It's not over. Oh God.

He calls back within an hour of the setup and says, "MY STORE'S NOT THERE!" I go look and sure enough, his store IS there. He just hasn't created it. At which point he tells me, "I thought that you were going to build my store for me!?" Holy fucking hell! We do installs, we DON'T build the damn store for you! You want a store? Build it yourself or pay someone to do it!

I had to wait a good 15 minutes before calling him, I was laughing so hard. People are clueless.

Tech geeks will understand this post. *grins*

Internal Tension in the Workplace

Ah, the internal fighting...

How immmature do you have to be to stop talking with a coworker instead of trying to resolve the issue? Whatever! I tried but the big baby would rather sit and wallow in his immaturity. If he wants to stew, so be it. I have work to do.

On another note, Alie and I have been talking about my moving to England to open up a Mexican takeaway. It would be simple fare, authentic Mexican...shredded beef and chicken burritos, tacos, tostadas and the like. There's nothing like it in Brighton and we think it would really take off. I hope we can pull it off!

Luthie, hang on, burritos are on their way!

Been Awhile...

since I last posted an entry so I thought I'd do one today.

I've had special company visiting the last week and it's been fantastic! We've gone a lot of places, done a lot of things and enjoyed each other's company tremendously. Today, we were supposed to go out for lunch with Kins, most of you know her as Kate Hanks ingame. Well, we had to clean the truck out before we left to pick her up so we went out the the car, cleared everything out of the backseat, locked it up and took everything back into the apt. We took a shower, got ready and started to head out..."where's my keys?" I ask. Oh fuckin' hell. They got locked in the truck.

Soooooo, now I wait for a call from mom to see if she will bring me my spare set. This makes twice in my car-owning life that the keys have ever been locked in the vehicle. *grumble, sigh* I so wanted to go to lunch today. Another "whadeva" to add to the long list of "whadevas".

BAH!
