What's in a blog?

As far as I can tell, a blog is an individual's random thoughts, rants, musings and meanderings. Seems to be right up my alley. Oh the joy of bearing my soul to no one in particular. Myah.

People Make My Head Hurt #2

Ok, here's another boner.
Not only do I do phone support but ocassionally I do e-mail support as well. Below is an example of what I deal with:

Greetings, I keep getting an error when attempting to checkout, which indicates no shipping is configured:
This is where the customer placed a screenshot of the 'payment configuration error'
Yet, UPS is indeed installed:
Here is where he displayed a screenshot of his 'shipping configuration page'
Here's how it's configured:
Another screenshot of 'shipping configuration page'
I have tried logging out, and logging back in to create a new session. Still nothing. Any thoughts? Thanks,
============================================
My response:The error that I'm seeing says "no payment module configured". Please check your payment configuration page to make sure that a payment module is assigned. Please let me know what happens. Thank you,
=============================================
His response:That's my point. The module is configured (please look further down in my original email). Yet, it's still erroring. Thoughts? =============================================My Response:The pictures you've shown me are for the "shipping configuration module" the error being generated that you have provided states that it is the "payment configuration module" that isn't assigned. If you look on the control panel to the left, you will see a listing for the "payment configuration" directly under the "shipping configuration". Please click on the link for "payment configuration" and verify whether or not a payment method has been selected. Let me know if I can be of further assistance. Regards,

His final response:Oops, sorry!

People Make My Head Hurt #1

I work for a software company. I where a couple of hats but the main one is technical support rep. Some of the calls make me wonder how some people have made it this far in life at all, let alone how they managed to figure out how to turn on a computer.

I had one woman call in yesterday who should not own a computer AT ALL. This woman didn't know how to even minimize a window and then had the nerve to tell me that our software was incomprehensible. You don't know how to minimize a window for cryin' out loud! Here's your sign.

I'm Hungy!

Hunger has set in and it's only 11:41 in the morning. Now, normally that wouldn't be so bad but we rotate lunch shifts where I work and my shift this week is at 2:30pm. I can't wait 3 fricken hours to eat! I think I'm going to pass out.

11:59am-Hungrier still. I can't hold out much longer. *swoons*

12:19pm-On a call, can't pay attention, all I think about is how my tummy is grumbling, head is swimming. Visions of burgers and fries dancing through my foggy mind.

12:40pm-The Gods have heard my stomach rumbling from the heavens and sent an angel to calm my tumultuous tummy! Food is on it's way! YAY!

1:27pm-After a very lengthy sales call, I am able to dig in...Pad Thai with shrimp! God, I love my friends!!! MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

Happy Hump Day!

Rolling on the downside to Friday and a payday Friday at that. With a big ol' bonus waiting for me so I can finally catch up on some bills. YAY!

A big apology to my friends for my mercurial moods the last week and a half or so. Too much emotional taxation. And tomorrow is a breaker for me. August 12th, 2005 would have been my 10 year anniversary with my ex husband. It's another of those firsts. First Thanksgiving without, first Christmas and now this. There are times when I still really miss him. I miss being married to him. Don't get me wrong, it's better for both of us that we're no longer together but there were good things about him. I wouldn't have been with him for so long if there weren't.

*heavy sigh*

Son of a $*#&!

Well, fuck me. I wrote this brilliant (in my opinion) blog and the fucking douchebag site timed out on me. Modern technology r0xx0rs and suxx0rs at the same time. Screw this shit, I'm gonna go read a book. At least THAT won't time out on me.

Monday Already?

Where the hell did my weekend go? *grumbles*

Ok, let me just say that I am not overly witty nor am I particularly entertaining. If you expect a high level of intellectualism, this is also the wrong blog for you to be reading. I'm just a 37 year old, twice divorced woman with a tedious job, living in a one-bedroom with a roomie and a dog.

The thing that keeps me going is my never depleted sense of humor. If I couldn't laugh about all the shit that I've gone through I would've blown my brains out by now. Thank God for laughter. And thank God for the friends that make me laugh.

WTF Was I Thinking?

I have no clue how to use this so bare with me. I'm sure in time I'll figure it out. Just leave me alone, I'll figure it out.
